The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 are expected to enter into force in the UK in April this year.

Local Authority support and assistance will help the UK to reach the critical waste portable batteries minimum collection targets of 25% by 2012 and 45% by 2016.

Therefore, Valpak will be contacting Local Authorities over the coming months, to discuss the possibility of setting up battery collection schemes.
